Moving from a crib to a toddler bed sounds like a simple label change, but the bedding pieces do not always change together. Some toddler beds reuse a crib-size mattress, while the duvet cover may be a completely different size. The quickest way to get the fit right is to measure each piece separately.
For infants and young children, bedding choices are also a safety decision. Follow current guidance from your pediatrician and relevant public health authorities for your child's age and sleep setup.
Why Crib and Toddler Bedding Sizes Can Be Confusing
The words crib and toddler describe the bed stage, but measurements can vary. A toddler frame may use the same mattress that was in the crib, so the fitted sheet can still fit. The duvet cover, however, may be sized differently.
That is why it helps to treat the fitted sheet, duvet cover and pillowcase as three separate fit checks. A match in one piece does not determine the fit of the others.
Start With the Mattress Measurements
Measure the mattress width, length and depth in inches. For the fitted sheet, all three numbers matter: the first two describe the sleeping surface, while the third describes the pocket depth that wraps around the mattress.
Then measure the duvet insert and pillow. Compare those measurements with the duvet cover and pillowcase listed for the bedding set. If the mattress label and your measurements disagree, check the bed or mattress manufacturer's specifications before ordering.
Naturloom Crib and Toddler Bedding Size Chart
Naturloom currently offers three baby bedding sizes. Each set includes one duvet cover, one fitted sheet and one pillowcase.
| Size | Fitted sheet | Duvet cover | Pillow-case |
|---|---|---|---|
| IKEA Baby | 27 × 52 × 6 in | 43 × 49 in | 12 × 18 in |
| Toddler | 28 × 52 × 8 in | 36 × 50 in | 12 × 18 in |
| Cot Bed / Wide Crib | 28 × 52 × 8 in | 47 × 59 in | 12 × 18 in |
You can see the current colors and size options in the Naturloom baby bedding collection. The same measurements are listed on the white muslin baby bedding set product page.
Why a Fitted Sheet Can Match While the Duvet Does Not
Toddler and Cot Bed / Wide Crib use the same 28 × 52 × 8 inch fitted sheet in the current Naturloom range. Their duvet covers are different: the Toddler cover is 36 × 50 inches, while the Cot Bed / Wide Crib cover is 47 × 59 inches. That is an 11-inch difference in width and a 9-inch difference in length.
IKEA Baby has its own fitted-sheet dimensions at 27 × 52 × 6 inches and a 43 × 49 inch duvet cover. All three current sizes use the same 12 × 18 inch pillowcase.
Cot Bed / Wide Crib is a current Naturloom option. Junior / Kids is not currently offered in the baby bedding sets covered by this guide, so use the measurements on the live product page rather than an older size chart.
How to Choose the Right Bedding Size
- Measure the mattress width, length and depth.
- Match all three measurements to the fitted-sheet option.
- Measure the duvet insert and compare it with the duvet cover.
- Check the pillow dimensions against the pillowcase size.
- Choose the product option that matches the complete setup rather than the bed name alone.

Crib and Toddler Bedding FAQs
Are crib and toddler fitted sheets the same size?
Sometimes. In the current Naturloom range, Toddler and Cot Bed / Wide Crib both use a 28 × 52 × 8 inch fitted sheet. IKEA Baby uses a 27 × 52 × 6 inch fitted sheet. Measure the mattress rather than relying on the bed label.
Can crib bedding be used on a toddler bed?
The fitted sheet may be reusable when the toddler bed uses the same mattress, but check the duvet cover and pillowcase separately. Matching fitted-sheet dimensions do not make every piece interchangeable.
What size duvet cover fits Naturloom's Toddler option?
The current Naturloom Toddler duvet cover measures 36 × 50 inches. Compare that measurement with the duvet insert before choosing the set.
What is the difference between IKEA Baby and Toddler sizing?
IKEA Baby uses a 27 × 52 × 6 inch fitted sheet and a 43 × 49 inch duvet cover. Toddler uses a 28 × 52 × 8 inch fitted sheet and a 36 × 50 inch duvet cover. Both use a 12 × 18 inch pillowcase.
